This is one of the craziest side projects I’ve done, and honestly one of the most fun. I built a custom PCB circuit and implanted it into a toy car, then designed the steering mechanism for the front wheels and 3D printed all the parts I needed to make it work. On the software side, I wrote an Android app that communicates with the car using a custom TCP sockets plugin. The coolest part is that it doesn’t need anything fancy — it just connects over a hotspot, so it works with basically any phone. The control logic itself runs on an Arduino, which talks directly to the circuit I built. A lot of people have asked me about this project because it mixes electronics, 3D printing, and custom software into one. It was tons of fun to make, and even more fun to drive around a little car I hacked together myself. Right now belogs to my nephew hehe.
